London, June 10:
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged calm after police arrested a Sudanese man in his 30s over a brutal stabbing in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The victim suffered serious injuries to his face, neck and back and was hospitalized. Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted murder and recovered a kitchen knife from the scene.
Authorities said there was no evidence linking the attack to terrorism and that no other suspects were being sought.
The incident gained widespread attention after graphic videos circulated online. Politicians and police appealed to the public not to share the footage or spread misinformation.
The attack has reignited debate over immigration, with Democratic Unionist Party leader Gavin Robinson calling for tighter controls.
The discussion follows a separate fatal stabbing case in Southampton that also sparked controversy over immigration, policing and race relations.
