Arulnithi is eagerly awaiting the release of Arulvaan. He says, ‘The movie serves a purpose. Speaks about how education transforms our lives’
Speaking to News Today, Arulnithi says, ‘I play a district Collector in the movie and audience would love the role’.
Excerpts from his interview:
Q: What drew you to Arulvaan?
A: What immediately struck me was its core idea—education and how it transforms lives. It’s not just a backdrop; it’s the soul of the film. That purpose made me want to be part of it.
Q: You play a District Collector in the film. How did you approach the role?
A: There was a sense of responsibility because the character is inspired by a real-life bureaucrat from the 1950s. I felt both excitement and fear. I wanted to portray the integrity and conviction of someone in that position authentically.
Q: Is Arulvaan a typical hero-centric film?
A: Not at all. This isn’t about one hero driving everything. The story revolves around Kurinji, played by Krithika. My role, and others in the film, exist to support and elevate her journey.
Q: What makes this film different from your earlier projects?
A: Most of my previous films, like thrillers, rely on suspense and pace. Arulvaan is more rooted and emotional. It focuses on people, their struggles, and a social message rather than just plot twists.
Q: Did playing a real-life-inspired character change your preparation?
A: Yes, definitely. When you know the character has real-world parallels, you can’t take liberties. I had to be more grounded, more restrained, and ensure I didn’t overdramatise.
Q: The film highlights education—how relevant is that theme today?
A: It’s extremely relevant. Even today, access to education can change entire communities. The film tries to show how one person’s effort can ignite that change.
Q: What do you hope audiences take away from Arulvaan?
A: I hope they walk out feeling inspired. If even a few people start thinking about the value of education or social responsibility, the film has done its job.
Q: Finally, how would you describe Arulvaan in one line?
A: It’s a heartfelt story about change, responsibility, and the power of education told through the lives of ordinary people.
