The makers of Magudam, starring Vishal, have announced that the film will hit theatres on August 14. The release date was revealed alongside the launch of the film’s latest single, Kalangaadhe.
The project marks a significant milestone for Vishal, who steps in as director for the first time after filmmaker Ravi Arasu exited midway through production. While Ravi Arasu retains story credit, Vishal has contributed to the screenplay in addition to headlining the film.
Magudam went on floors in July 2025 and wrapped filming in June this year. The cast includes Anjali, Dushara Vijayan, John Vijay, Jayaprakash, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, VJ Jhansi, Padam Kumar and Sabumon Abdusamad.
The technical crew features cinematographers Richard M Nathan and Abinandhan Ramanujam, editor NB Srikanth, art director G Durairaj, and action choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan.
The film is presented posthumously by R. B. Choudary under the Super Good Films banner, marking its 99th production. It is produced by his sons B. Suresh, RB Jeevan Choudary, along with actors Jithan Ramesh and Jiiva.
