Glasgow, July 30:
India delivered a strong all-round performance at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow yesterday headlined by a historic one-two finish in the menâs 100m T47 event.
Dilip Mahadu Gavit clinched gold with a record-breaking run of 10.71 seconds, while Mohammed Basil secured silver, marking one of Indiaâs finest moments in para athletics.
Adding to the medal tally, long jumper Murali Sreeshankar won silver with a best effort of 8.09m, continuing his impressive comeback. In boxing, India assured at least 10 medals as six more pugilists advanced to the semifinals, surpassing the countryâs previous edition haul.
There was further success in athletics with Animesh Kujur reaching the 200m semifinals, while Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Samardeep Singh Gill qualified for the shot put final. Indiaâs lawn bowls contingent also maintained winning momentum with strong performances in both menâs pairs and womenâs singles.
