Chennai, Sept 7:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on Monday announced the creation of 2,546 new posts for the Singappen Special Task Force, aimed at strengthening security and protection for women across the State.
The Singappen force was launched as a dedicated police unit for womenâs safety. The government has been expanding its strength and operations to enable quicker response to complaints and incidents involving women.
The force has already been taking immediate action on complaints received from across Tamil Nadu, with recent reports indicating hundreds of complaints being handled within a week.
The creation of 2,546 posts is expected to significantly strengthen the forceâs manpower and enable it to expand its operations across the State.
