Chennai, Sept 01:
The Election Commission of India has officially recognised the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a recognised state political party in Tamil Nadu.
The poll panel has also confirmed the âWhistleâ symbol as the partyâs election symbol.
With this, the number of recognised state political parties in Tamil Nadu has increased from six to seven.
The other recognised state parties are the DMK, AIADMK, CPI, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Naam Tamilar Katchi and DMDK.
