The shooting of actor Rio and Saniya Iyappan-starrer Tamil film Maddy has been completed, with the makers announcing the wrap of production.
Written and directed by Karthikeyan BK, the film stars Rio, Saniya Iyappan, Aju Varghese, Singampuli and RJ Vijay in key roles. The film is produced by Kalai Arasu under the Roll Time Studios banner.
The production house announced the wrap with a behind-the-scenes video capturing moments from the shoot. Maddy went on floors earlier this year at an event attended by filmmakers Lokesh Kanagaraj and Cibi Chakaravarthi, along with actor Sivakarthikeyan.
The makers had earlier unveiled a poster featuring the names āSachinā and āAnjaliā on cricket jerseys against the backdrop of a stadium. However, details about the film’s storyline and its release date are yet to be revealed.
The technical crew includes composer Dhibu Ninan Thomas, cinematographer Praveen K Pothan, editor Lawrence Kishore and production designer Pradeep Raj.
The film marks Saniya Iyappan’s return to Tamil cinema after Sorgavaasal (2024). She made her Tamil debut with Irugapatru in 2023 and has also appeared in Malayalam films, including the Lucifer franchise.
Rio, who was earlier known as Rio Raj, has recently adopted the shorter screen name Rio. He was also credited as Rio in his recent film Ram and Leela.
