Producer Atlee has described Baththa as a film aimed at audiences across generations, saying the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer combines commercial entertainment with themes of humanity and responsibility.
Speaking at the audio launch of the film, Atlee said Baththa has been made as a commercial entertainer while also attempting to convey something meaningful to family audiences. He said only a few films manage to transcend generations while offering a message that can connect with viewers of different age groups.
The audio launch was held in the presence of students at a private college and turned into a lively event, with Vijay Sethupathi, director Balaji Tharanidharan and Atlee sharing their experiences of bringing the story to the screen.
Baththa marks the third collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharanidharan. Their earlier association includes Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, which became one of the notable successes in Vijay Sethupathi’s career.
Atlee attended the event along with his wife Priya Atlee, while composer Sai Abhyankkar added to the celebrations with a vintage-car entry accompanied by dancers.
Set in the 1980s, Baththa is expected to combine its period setting with family emotions and entertainment. The film has generated attention following the audio launch, with the team highlighting its appeal across generations.
