Palani temple rope car service resumes after 64-day maintenance

Rope car service at the Palani Murugan Temple has resumed from Tuesday after remaining suspended for 64 days for annual maintenance.

Chennai, Sept 22:
Rope car service at the Palani Murugan Temple has resumed from Tuesday after remaining suspended for 64 days for annual maintenance.
The rope car is one of the services used by devotees to reach the hill temple, along with the winch train and the steps. The annual maintenance was undertaken with passenger safety in mind.
During the maintenance period, the service remained suspended and devotees were advised to use the winch train and steps. Works included installation of a new cabin, trial runs and renovation-related activities.
The temple administration said the maintenance works had been completed and the rope car service would resume from Tuesday.
