Riyadh, Sept 25:
Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan are set to hold an urgent high-level meeting to discuss support for the kingdom following a series of attacks by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement.
The meeting comes after the Houthis claimed to have launched missiles and drones at Saudi targets. Saudi authorities said they intercepted six ballistic missiles fired by Houthi fighters.
The attacks have added to concerns over regional security and energy supplies. The Houthis have also targeted Saudi-backed forces in Yemen as part of the wider conflict in the Middle East.
Iran has sought to distance itself from the rapid military actions of its Houthi allies, even as the attacks have increased pressure on Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region.
