Chennai, Sept 29: A 28-year-old man was hacked to death after two women allegedly lured him out of his house in Krishna Petta, Triplicane, Chennai. Police are searching for four suspects, including the two women.
The deceased, Ajith of Venkat Rangam Pillai Street, was reportedly working as a technician with Airtel. He was at home with his parents when two women came to the house and asked him to step outside to speak to him.
While Ajith was talking to the women near the entrance, two unidentified men allegedly arrived and dragged him away. They attacked him with knives, causing severe injuries to his head and face. Ajith died at the spot.
When his parents rushed to save him, the attackers allegedly threatened them with knives. His mother Sarasammal suffered a cut injury on her hand and was admitted to hospital.
Ice House police recovered Ajith’s body and sent it for post-mortem. Police are investigating whether the murder was pre-planned and are probing the motive and the identities of the two women.
CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and trace the four suspects. The incident has caused shock in Triplicane.
