Madrid, Oct 3:
Spain’s parliament has rejected government-backed emergency housing measures aimed at addressing the country’s housing affordability crisis.
The measures were facing opposition as protesters gathered outside Parliament demanding stronger protection for renters and action on rising housing costs.
The setback leaves the government facing further political negotiations over housing policy at a time when rent and access to affordable accommodation remain major issues in Spain.
