Chennai, Oct 8:
Traffic diversions have been introduced at the TTK Road-Sriram Nagar North junction in Chennai from Thursday to facilitate construction work for the Chennai Metro Rail project.
The traffic changes will remain in force for three months as Metro Rail authorities undertake tunnel-related works in the area.
The diversion is expected to affect motorists using the TTK Road and surrounding stretches. Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes wherever possible.
The work forms part of the ongoing expansion of the Chennai Metro network under Phase II. The authorities have introduced the traffic restrictions to enable construction activities while maintaining movement of vehicles in the area.
Traffic police and Metro Rail officials are expected to monitor the movement of vehicles and make necessary arrangements during the construction period.
