Chennai, Oct 31:
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has clarified that metro services on the recently inaugurated Yellow Line between Poonamallee Bypass and Vadapalani via Porur Junction will continue as usual, dismissing media reports about the expiry of its operating authorisation.
In a press statement, CMRL said it had the necessary authorisation for the continued operation of metro services on the stretch and that there would be no changes to the existing schedule. Commuters can continue to use the service without any disruption, it added.
The clarification comes amid reports that the authorisation for operating the newly inaugurated Yellow Line had expired, raising concerns over a possible suspension of services.
CMRL urged media organisations to verify information concerning Chennai Metro directly with its authorities before publishing or circulating reports. It also said all official updates regarding metro services would be communicated through its authorised communication channels.
