Chennai: Dhanshika played Rajinikanth’s daughter Yogi in Kabali. She had action scsnes to do for she played a professional killer in it. Now, she returns to do a similar role for a movie titled Yogi Da. It is an action entertainer, directed by Gautham Krishna, a former associate of Sibi Malayil and Chakri Toleti.
The film, bankrolled by Jatpatma Cinemas, has Bollywood actor Kabir Singh who debuted with Ajith’s Vedalam as the baddie locking horns with Dhanshika.
Says the director, ‘It is a high-octane action thriller laced with other filmy ingredients including romance, emotions, humour etc. Dhanshika essays a challenging role and even as I wrote the script, I felt no one other than her could do justice to the lead protagonist character. The major advantage is she has trained in martial arts and that she can do risky stunts without needing a body double.’
Isshrathquadhre, younger sister of Oscar winner AR Rahman is scoring music. Bhoopathy will be cranking the camera. Sayaji Shinde and Manobala play supporting cast.
