“Maari 2 is a commercial and a family entertainer. It is movie that will make you feel good and it should be watched along with family,” said actor Dhanush.
Starring Dhanush in the lead, the movie is hitting the screens 21 December. Sai Pallavi, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Tovino Thomas, Kreshna, Robo Shankar are also in the cast. Directed by Balaji Mohan, it has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
According to Dhanush, “Those who have watched Maari will know what to expect in the sequel. It has a strong story with an emotional connect.”
Heaping laurels on his co-star Sai Pallavi, Dhanush, added, “She is the anchor of the film. She has done a fantastic job. I learnt a lot from her.”
On her role (‘Araathu Anandhi’) in the movie, Sai Pallavi said, “I have to thank the director for the opportunity. Once I started performing, I soon realised that this movie was very different. My role has been written well.”
She was all praise for Dhanush. “He encouraged me a lot on the sets and offer lots of suggestions. He was like a mentor.”
On a lighter note, she added that it was fun to ride the auto; Sai Pallavi’s character is seen riding an auto in the trailer and it stormed the Internet when it was released.
Balaji Mohan, said, “All credits to Dhanush, who gave his best. I am delighted to work with such a crew.” Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, said, “I loved the story when Balaji narrated it to me. I decided to grab the opportunity immediately.”
