Chennai: The tug-of-war between rival groups in the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) entered the house of justice with its president, actor Vishal, taking the case of the Madras High Court.

Vishal appealed in the High Court today after the TFPC office was sealed yesterday. The court has said it would hear the case at 2.15 pm today if it was filed as a petition.

In the meantime, a fresh case has been filed against Vishal for financial misappropriation as head of the TFPC.

Yesterday, a case was registered against the actor for trying to break the lock of the TFPC office that had been locked by the rival group of film producers. Vishal was arrested when he refused to heed the police warning and was later set free.

The problem had been brewing in the council for some time with many producers like Bharathiraja, S Ve Shekher, Ritheesh and others raising the banner of revolt against Vishal for various reasons.
