Marriages are made in heaven, they say. But in today’s society a wedding celebration is an emotional drainer for both the families of bride and groom. Filmmaker Cheran, known for his emotional potboilers, is back with a drama that speaks volumes about it. Besides wielding the megaphone, Cheran dons the greasepaint too.

The movie is about a lover couple, who decides to get married with the support of elders in their families. And when preparations begin both the families find differences and they put a hurdle in wedding preparations. The movie stars yesteryear heroine Sukanya in a pivotal role. Umapathy, Kavya Suresh, M S Baskar, Thambi Ramiah are also in the cast.

Mahesh (Umapathy) and Aadhira (Kavya Suresh) are lover couples. One fine day they decide to get married. They inform their families. When both families sit and decide about their wedding, all hell breaks loose. Mahesh’s elder sister Manonmani (Sukanya) and uncle Arunachalam (MS Baskar) come to forefront while Aadhira’s brother Arivu (Cheran), uncle Kumaraguru (Thambi Ramaiah) and mother Vadivaambal (Seema) get desperate to arrange the wedding. Arivu and Manonmani have differences of opinion over many things. What happens then forms the rest.

Cheran passes the muster as actor, while M S Baskar and Thambi Ramaiah excel. Sukanya leaves an impact with her good work. Umapathy and Kavya Suresh chip in well. Cinematography by Rajesh Yadav is bright and beautiful, while Siddharth Vipin’s songs are catchy.

The movie is out and out family drama, and all the characters in it have been well blended with the story. There are several emotional moments in the movie. However, it does tend to get a little preachy and predictable towards the end.
