The open sewer canal at Pudur Main Road is a threat and needs to be addressed immediately, say residents. “I have been commuting on this route for many years now and the canal remains the same. Authorities cannot turn a blind eye to these problems. They have two things to do. First is to clear garbage and plants from the canal to ensure good flow and the second is they need to enclose it with concrete slabs,” said Gunasekar, a commuter.
Others opined the same and added that issues surrounding sanitation need to be addressed by the authorities immediately, for Pudur is becoming a populous suburb.
