Chennai: The registration of ‘Nawabs of Arcot Family Association’ (NAFA), formed by certain people and registered on 7 June, 2019, under the TN Societies Registration Act, has been cancelled by the Registrar of Societies, 17 July, 2019, for non-compliance with the provisions of the Act’, according to a press release issued by Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali.
The cancellation was made following an inquiry upon the objection raised by the Prince of Arcot for the improper use of ‘Amir Mahal,’ the official residence of the Prince of Arcot, being given as their registered address of the association, the release said.
The Prince of Arcot in his statement said the name ‘Nawabs of Arcot Family Association’ is objectionable and neither he nor his immediately family members are associated with it.
