Chennai: Dhanush starrer Jagame Thanthiram, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was supposed to hit the screens on 1 May. However, it got postponed due to coronavirus outbreak.
There were reports doing rounds that the makers of the film, Y NOT Studios have initiated talks with popular OTT platforms to release the film digitally.
However, Karthik Subbaraj has denied it as rumours. He said, Jagame Thanthiram is meant for theatrical release and we have to wait for it. It will not release on OTT.
Recently, the makers of Jagame Thandhiram took to Twitter to announce that the film’s single Rakita Rakita will release on Dhanush’s birthday, which falls on 28 July. The team also released a new poster featuring Dhanush.
A gangster drama set in London, the film also features Game of Thrones actor James Cosmo, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sanchana Natrajan and Joju George in important roles. Cinematography is by Shreyas Krishna and music is by Santosh Narayanan.
