Chennai: In a bid to usher in a new political system of governance, Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin jas promised to provide an inclusive government that will be honest, clean and transparent and solve the people’s problems by joining hands with other parties.
Three days after taking over as the Chief Minister for the first time that heralded the return of DMK regime after a decade, Stalin urged the DMK cadres to forget about the bitter election campaign indulged in by political parties and join hands with them in solving the people’s problems.
Appealing to the DMK cadres to join hands with members of other political parties to solve the people’s problems, Stalin, in an epistle to partymen, said, ‘no purpose will be achieved in debating about the past mistakes.’
“Instead of cursing the darkness, it’s better to light a lamp. Instead of complaining about the summer, let us be ready to welcome the spring,” he said, and promised that his government will focus on the State’s development on all fronts to fulfil the expectations of the people, who felt that they were let down for the past 10 years.
Terming the CM post as a responsibility rather than a position, he said he had accepted to sit on the seat of thorns as bestowed on him by the people’s popular support as well as the hard work of the party cadres and the members of the alliance parties.
Noting that the DMK government has taken over the reigns of the State amid challenging times, Stalin said though it is a DMK government that has come to power, it will be a government for all, he said appealed to people to cooperate with the government to prevent spread of the covid pandemic by wearing masks, hand washing and maintaining social distancing.
