Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has informed the Assembly that irregularities to the tune of crores of rupees had been reported in the schemes for waiving farm and gold loans. The government would implement them only after fixing the irregularities, he added.
“Though we intend to implement these schemes, there are several irregularities,” said Stalin. “Even when we made calculations for waving farmersâ loans, irregularities run up to several crores. This will be rolled out after the system is rectified.”
When former Minister RB Udhayakumar expressed apprehension that the White Paper on Stateâs finances was released to make an excuse to not fulfil the DMKâs electoral promises, Stalin reiterated that his government would not backtrack on its promises.
