Child drowns in Marina swimming pool

A five-year-old boy identified as Anirudh from Pallikaranai, who came to swim with his family at the Anna swimming pool at Marina beach, Chennai, unexpectedly drowned. Efforts to rescue him failed. Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and directed the officials to pay Rs 3 lakh to the kin of the deceased from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. He also directed the officials to conduct a departmental inquiry into the boy’s death and take appropriate action.
