In a recent development, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) Scheduled Caste wing head, Ranjan Kumar, has demanded a public apology from BJP member and actress Khushbu Sundar for her remarks, which he deems offensive to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community. The controversy centers around Khushbu’s use of the term ‘Cheri language’ and has sparked calls for her to address the issue promptly. Ranjan Kumar, in a statement, expressed concern that Khushbu’s remark had hurt the sentiments of the SC community. He urged her to acknowledge her mistake and promptly delete the post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He went on to caution that failure to comply with these demands would result in a massive protest being organised. In response to the criticism, Khushbu asserted that she used the French word ‘Chéri,’ which translates to ‘beloved,’ and not the Tamil word ‘Cheri.’ @@@@@
