As the political landscape in Tamil Nadu undergoes dynamic shifts ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran has taken a principled stand against electoral malpractice while reaffirming his commitment to the welfare and development of his constituency, Theni.Addressing reporters during his campaign in Theni, Dhinakaran made a resolute declaration that he would not succumb to the temptation of cash-for-votes bribery, emphasizing his dedication to conducting a clean and transparent election campaign. Citing his previous electoral defeat by a narrow margin, Dhinakaran highlighted the need for integrity and ethical conduct in electoral processes.
Amidst the political rhetoric, Dhinakaran showcased his compassionate side by extending financial assistance to two girls in need of support to pursue their education. Expressing his personal commitment to helping those in need, Dhinakaran emphasized his bond with the people of Theni, whom he views as relatives, rather than mere constituents.
Rejecting the practice of distributing cash for votes, Dhinakaran underscored his belief in genuine engagement and assistance to address the needs of the community. He pledged to prioritize the establishment of an airport in Theni under the UDAN scheme, increase water storage levels in the Mullaperiyar dam to safeguard Tamil Nadu’s interests, and address the long-standing demand for desilting the Vaigai river with support from the central government.
Responding to queries about the electoral prospects of the AIADMK-led front, Dhinakaran expressed confidence in his party’s performance, predicting that the front would secure third place in the polls across the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
