In a scathing indictment of the DMK and Congress, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has alleged that the two parties hold a patent for corruption, while asserting the BJP’s commitment to leading Tamil Nadu towards a path of development and prosperity.Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate C Narasimhan for the Krishnagiri Lok Sabha constituency, Singh highlighted the detrimental impact of corruption on Tamil Nadu’s economy, citing a staggering loss of Rs 4,600 crore due to sand smuggling. He further implicated individuals linked to the state’s political elite in drug smuggling activities, underscoring the need for accountability and transparency in governance.
Singh attributed India’s progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the government’s focus on development and economic growth. Emphasizing Tamil Nadu’s potential to lead a developed India, Singh lamented the stifling effect of DMK’s dynastic politics on the state’s youth, advocating for the BJP as the natural choice for progressive leadership.
The Defence Minister raised concerns about the erosion of national security under the Congress-DMK alliance, casting doubt on their ability to safeguard the interests of the nation. Singh cautioned against the INDIA alliance’s purported agenda to undermine religious sentiments, citing instances of alleged disrespect towards cultural symbols and traditions.
Singh decried attempts to weaken the traditional sources of strength, particularly the reverence for feminine energy symbolized by ‘Shakti,’ and opposition to the installation of ‘sengol’ in Parliament. He warned that such actions threatened the fabric of Indian society and called for vigilance against forces seeking to disrupt the nation’s unity and integrity.
