To cater to the increased travel demand during the upcoming weekend and the Milad-un-Nabi holiday, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Department will operate 1,515 special buses in addition to its regular services. These services will be available from Friday to Saturday, aiming to ease the rush as people head to various destinations across the state and beyond.
A total of 955 buses will depart from the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus (KCBT) in Chennai, serving major cities such as Madurai, Tiruchy, Coimbatore, Salem, and Tirunelveli. In addition to these, 190 buses will operate from Koyambedu and 20 from Madhavaram, connecting destinations like Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru.
Special services have also been arranged from other cities, including Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Erode, where extra buses will be made available to accommodate the holiday rush.
For those planning their return journey, special buses will be operational from Sunday (September 15) to Tuesday (September 17). Passengers are encouraged to book their tickets in advance through the official website, www.tnstc.in, or the TNSTC mobile app, ensuring a smoother and more convenient travel experience.
This proactive step by the Tamil Nadu Transport Department comes as a relief to thousands of travelers who would otherwise face difficulties during the long weekend and Milad-un-Nabi holiday.
