India declared their second innings at 287/4, leaving Bangladesh with a gigantic 515-run target.

Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill were the architects of India’s second innings, with both completing their respective tons.

Pant, who is playing his first Test post his fatal car accident, scored 109(128) before getting caught and bowled against Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Gill, on the other hand, returned unbeaten on  119(176). Together the duo added 167 runs for the fourth wicket, while KL Rahul, who walked in after Pant’s dismissal, chipped in with a 19-ball 22*.

This was Pant’s sixth ton in the format, while Gill notched his fifth Test ton. Earlier, Gill and Pant had resumed the proceedings on Day 3 from the overnight score of 81/3.

The pair started things slow but after having their eyes set they switched gears.

India scored 124 runs in the opening session, taking India’s total to 205/3 at Lunch. India had earlier piled 376 in their first innings, with R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja leading the show.

The bowlers then joined the party and folded the Bangladesh first innings for 149, allowing India to take complete control in the match.
