Chief Minister M.K. Stalin indicated that there would be changes in the state Cabinet but assured that there would be no disappointments. This statement came in response to reporters’ questions about a possible Cabinet reshuffle and speculation regarding the appointment of Udhayanidhi Stalin as Deputy Chief Minister.
Addressing the queries, CM Stalin said, “There will be changes in the Cabinet, but there will be no disappointment.” He added that Minister T.R.B. Raja had provided a detailed report on foreign investments and clarified that his recent U.S. visit report was indeed a white paper.
Drawing a contrast with the previous AIADMK government, he stated, “We know well how white papers were during the AIADMK regime. Unlike AIADMK, we are not bringing in deceptive investments.”
On the topic of the upcoming northeast monsoon, the Chief Minister affirmed that the government is fully prepared. “I will be speaking with district collectors within the next two days to review our readiness,” he said.
When asked about his visits to Kolathur, his own constituency, Stalin said, “Kolathur is my own constituency, and I will visit whenever I wish.”
CM Stalin’s comments suggest an impending reshuffle aimed at optimizing the Cabinet’s functioning while maintaining public confidence, setting the stage for possible strategic changes in the government’s leadership structure.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu BJP unit expressed confidence on Tuesday about forming the government in the state in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
Reacting to Chief Minister MK Stalin’s statement about a possible Cabinet reshuffle, including the elevation of state Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin as Deputy Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad criticized the move, asserting that such changes would not impact what he described as the “anti-people” DMK government.
“Even if Udhayanidhi is appointed as the Deputy CM, there will be no change in the rest of the anti-people DMK regime,” Prasad stated. “People of Tamil Nadu are aware that the same anti-people rule will continue in the state till 2026.”
Prasad further claimed that significant changes would occur in the Kolathur Assembly constituency and the overall Tamil Nadu government in 2026. He emphasized that the people of Tamil Nadu, disillusioned by the DMK’s governance, are eagerly awaiting the chance to vote for a change.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s golden rule will be extended to Tamil Nadu too,” Prasad said, predicting that the BJP-led alliance would form the government after the 2026 Assembly elections. He added, “Soon, there will be a political change in Tamil Nadu, and the people will not be disappointed this time.”
The BJP’s declaration comes amid ongoing debates over potential Cabinet reshuffles within the DMK government, signaling a heated political landscape in Tamil Nadu as parties gear up for the 2026 elections.
