Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) Dharmapuri District President, Siva, made a significant announcement stating that popular actor and political leader Vijay will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from the Dharmapuri constituency.
The declaration was made during a meeting held in Dharmapuri, which was attended by TVK’s district legal wing, party officials, and volunteers from various parts of the district. The event served as both a consultation and an introductory meeting for the party’s district lawyers and office bearers. Notably, several individuals from different political parties announced their decision to join TVK during this gathering.
In his address, District President Siva highlighted the underdeveloped state of Dharmapuri and expressed hope that Vijay’s candidacy would be a step towards progress and development in the region. “Due to the significant backwardness in Dharmapuri district, Vijay, our leader, will contest from the Dharmapuri Assembly constituency representing TVK in the upcoming 2026 elections,” Siva stated.
This move is seen as a strategic step for the actor-turned-politician Vijay, who has been making headlines with his active participation in politics, and signals TVK’s commitment to bring development and new leadership to the region.
