BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai accused the DMK government of announcing large-scale projects in the budget for publicity but failing to allocate funds for implementation. He highlighted the collapse of a school roof in Tenkasi and the poor condition of school buildings statewide.
Despite announcing ₹7,500 crore for school infrastructure, Annamalai claimed no funds were allocated in the grant request. He also pointed out that ₹560 crore set aside for rural school development in 2023-24 was left unspent.
Demanding transparency, he urged the DMK to release a white paper on the actual number of classrooms built under the Anbazhagan School Development Scheme.
