The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a series of raids at multiple locations in Chennai today, focusing primarily on individuals and businesses linked to the healthcare and business sectors.
According to sources, ED officials carried out searches at seven different premises, including areas in Virugambakkam, Saligramam, T. Nagar, Ashok Nagar, and KK Nagar. One of the key locations under scrutiny was the residence of Dr. Varadarajan, located in KK Nagar. Dr. Varadarajan is said to be associated with several medical establishments.
In another significant development, the ED also raided the residence of a prominent businessman in Saidapet. The operations were conducted under tight security, with ED teams reportedly examining financial records, digital devices, and other potentially incriminating materials.
While officials have not issued a formal statement yet, it is believed that the raids are part of an ongoing investigation into possible money laundering activities and financial irregularities involving entities in the healthcare and corporate sectors. Sources close to the investigation say that important documents are likely to be seized during the operation.
