Retired Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer KG Arunraj has officially joined actor Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He has been appointed as the party’s General Secretary for Policy and Propaganda. Arunraj, who holds an MBBS degree, joined the civil services in 2009 and served in various states including Tamil Nadu, Bihar, and Maharashtra. He is best known for leading a major income tax raid in 2016 that unearthed ₹90 crore in unaccounted cash. After taking voluntary retirement in May 2025, Arunraj expressed his desire to contribute to public life through politics. TVK sources say Arunraj will play a key role in shaping the party’s strategy ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. His entry is seen as a major boost for TVK, combining administrative experience with Vijay’s popularity. @@
