Villupuram July 24:  A wiretapping device found under the chair of PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss at his Thailapuram residence has been officially handed over to the police.
Party sources said the hidden device had been in place for about two months and was discovered during a private security check. It was found to contain a Lyca SIM card and is believed to be London-made. The device reportedly activates when it detects voices and transmits the audio for recording.
PMK headquarters secretary Anbalagan earlier filed a complaint with the Kilianoore police. Following this, a two-day joint inspection was conducted by cybercrime officials and local police. On July 23, Anbalagan handed over the device, along with its SIM card and battery, to Cybercrime Inspector Kalaiarasi.
A police team is now investigating who placed the device and how it operated. They are checking SIM usage data and tower locations to trace the source. Ramadoss has said he hopes the full truth will come out soon.
