Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has accused the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu of using language and Dravidian identity as emotional issues to attack the BJP. She said DMK is doing this because it has no answers to charges of corruption and caste-related crimes.
She added that there can be “no bigger bogus argument” than saying BJP is against Dravidian interests.
Sitharaman said the DMK government is facing serious charges. These include corruption by ministers, crimes against women, caste violence—especially against Dalits—and a rise in drug abuse. “The DMK has no answers to these problems,” she said.
She also stressed that people of Tamil Nadu deserve a government that focuses on development, jobs, and safety instead of politics of distraction.
