Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President K. Selvaperunthagai on Thursday categorically rejected any talk of an alliance with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Speaking at the airport, he noted that TVK itself has repeatedly declared it is not aligned with any political party for now.
Addressing recent speculation around Rahul Gandhiâs phone call to TVK leader Vijay, Selvaperunthagai said the conversation was purely humanitarian â a gesture of condolence after the Karur tragedy. He stressed that the call should not be viewed through a political lens.
While welcoming the reunited front of former AIADMK leaders as a âpositive signâ, the Congress chief declined to comment further on the internal dynamics of the opposition parties.
