DMK organisation secretary R S Bharathi accused AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami of spreading false propaganda and politicizing issues related to women’s safety in Tamil Nadu.
Bharathi pointed out that AIADMK has been making misleading claims about the state’s law and order situation, especially after incidents in Coimbatore and Chennai.
Bharathi highlighted that the Coimbatore case, initially reported as a kidnapping, turned out to be a family dispute, and a missing Class 6 girl from Kannagi Nagar was safely traced and returned home within hours by the police.
He criticized Palaniswami for issuing premature statements before ascertaining facts, accusing the opposition of weaponizing crime incidents for political gains. The DMK stated that the government under Chief Minister M K Stalin prioritizes women’s welfare and safety and would not compromise on it.
Bharathi assured that the administration is actively working to ensure security and justice, countering allegations that Tamil Nadu is unsafe for women.
