The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has announced it will hold a major state convention in Trichy on March 8, party leaders said following a district secretaries meeting in Chennai.
The meeting, chaired by party leadership, finalised a series of electoral mobilisation plans ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The highlight is the massive DMK state conference on March 8 under the slogan “Stalin Thodarattum, Tamil Nadu Vellattum” (Let Stalin Continue, Let Tamil Nadu Win), which is expected to draw around one million party workers and supporters to Trichy.
In the run-up to the convention, the party has resolved to intensify its grassroots campaigns. Starting February 1 until March 8, ten women from each assembly constituency will go door-to-door to highlight the government’s welfare schemes and achievements, aiming to consolidate support among voters, particularly women.
A statewide propaganda campaign titled “Tamil Nadu Thalaikuniyadhu” will also be conducted throughout February, with trained star campaigners holding public meetings and street-corner talks across constituencies.
Additionally, the party plans training sessions for polling-booth level workers under the “En Vakkuchavadi — Vetri Vakkuchavadi” programme, ensuring party organisers and digital volunteers are fully prepared for election work. These sessions are scheduled at various locations in February ahead of the March 8 mega-conference.
The DMK leadership says the Trichy convention will serve as a key rallying point to energise cadres and finalise electoral strategies as the State prepares for the assembly polls.
