Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced that the Vadapalani–Panagal Park section of Phase II of the Chennai Metro is expected to be operational by March 2027. This section is part of the larger Phase II expansion, which aims to improve urban connectivity and reduce traffic congestion across the city.The Vadapalani–Panagal Park corridor will serve several key residential and commercial areas, making daily commuting faster and more convenient for passengers. Once completed, this stretch will integrate seamlessly with existing metro lines and other upcoming sections of Phase II, providing a more comprehensive metro network for the city.
Officials have confirmed that construction work is progressing steadily. Modern stations, advanced signaling systems, and efficient train operations are being prioritized to ensure smooth and safe travel for commuters.
