Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M. K. Stalin expressed confidence that the DMK-led alliance would win more than 200 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections, forming the government for a record seventh time.
Addressing the 12th State Conference of the DMK in Tiruchirappalli, Stalin likened the polls to a cricket match ending with a “last-ball six,” saying the party would consolidate its gains and deliver a decisive victory based on its five-year achievements.
He slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for trying to replicate the Bihar political model in Tamil Nadu and rejected the need for a “double-engine government,” asserting that the State had always remained beyond Delhi’s control.
Stalin also questioned what the BJP-led Union government had done for Tamil Nadu, criticizing policies such as the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the appointment of a Governor who frequently clashed with the State government.
He added that the Centre had not announced any major schemes for the State even ahead of the elections.
Urging party workers to campaign vigorously, he called for a landslide victory to establish the “Dravidian Model 2.0” government.
