Chennai, May 2:
The planned visit of Vijay, leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), to Velankanni and Nagore has been cancelled, according to reports.
The visit, which was expected to include prayers at the Velankanni Church and Nagore Dargah as part of his ongoing spiritual tour, was called off at the last minute, leaving supporters and party workers disappointed. Crowds who had gathered in anticipation were seen dispersing after news of the cancellation broke.
Vijay has been on a series of spiritual visits across India in recent weeks, including temples and shrines in Tamil Nadu and other states, as part of his broader outreach ahead of political activities.
However, no official reason has been given for the sudden cancellation of the Velankanni–Nagore trip.
Further details regarding rescheduling of the visit are awaited from the party.
