Chennai, May 23:
Summer heat continues to intensify across Tamil Nadu, with temperatures crossing 100°F in at least 17 locations, causing widespread discomfort among residents. The rising temperatures have made daytime conditions increasingly harsh, especially in interior and urban regions.

The Regional Meteorological Centre has warned that temperatures in coastal Tamil Nadu, including parts of Pudukkottai and Karaikal, could rise by another 2 to 4 degrees Celsius until May 25. Heatwave conditions are also likely to prevail in isolated parts of Chennai.
The heatwave is not limited to Tamil Nadu, with several regions across India experiencing extreme temperatures. New Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are facing severe heat conditions. Among the hottest locations, Banda recorded a scorching 118°F, while Khammam saw temperatures reach 115°F.
