Chennai, June 11:
The Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2026 for in-service teachers is scheduled to be held on July 4 and 5, with the School Education Department likely to conduct teacher transfer counselling on July 6 and 7 to avoid inconvenience to candidates appearing for the exam.
Officials said details of TNTET applicants have been verified through the EMIS portal and forwarded to the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) for further processing
As per a 2025 Supreme Court order, clearing the TNTET examination is mandatory for in-service teachers to continue in their posts, making the upcoming test crucial for thousands of educators across the state.
The annual counselling process plays a key role in filling vacancies and facilitating transfers and promotions in government schools, ensuring better distribution of teaching staff across Tamil Nadu.
