Chennai, June 16:

Chief Minister Joseph Vijay will inaugurate a special training programme for MLAs today ahead of the first Assembly session of the TVK-led government on June 18.

As per tradition, the session will begin with the Governor’s address, and Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been invited to deliver it. Expectations are high as this will be the first session of the new government.

All MLAs of the 17th Legislative Assembly will attend the two-day training programme being held at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai. The sessions will run from 10 AM to 5:30 PM today and tomorrow.

Unlike previous years, the programme is open not only to newly elected MLAs but also to experienced and former members. The training will cover Assembly procedures, rules, legislative conduct, and effective participation in debates and discussions.
