Chennai, June 19:
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday staged its first major protest against the Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, alleging a failure to address rising law-and-order concerns, particularly crimes against women and children.
The demonstration was led by state president Nainar Nagenthran near Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, with participation from senior leaders including Tamilisai Soundararajan and others.
The party accused the government of continuing the same shortcomings as the previous regime and claimed that public safety, especially women’s security, had not improved despite the change in leadership.
BJP leaders urged the state to take stronger preventive measures and ensure stricter enforcement of law-and-order mechanisms across Tamil Nadu.
