Chennai, July 10:
The Tamil Nadu government has announced key transfers involving senior police officials, reshuffling important positions across departments.
Senior IPS officer V. Varunkumar, who was serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID), has been transferred and posted as the DIG of the Special Task Force (STF) in Erode.
In a related move, DIG V. Vikraman, who had been on compulsory wait, has now been appointed as the DIG of the CB-CID, filling the vacancy created by Varunkumar’s transfer.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police (SP) B. Ragupathi, also on compulsory wait, has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Pallikaranai under the Tambaram Police Commissionerate.
The transfers are part of routine administrative measures aimed at strengthening law enforcement and ensuring effective policing across the state.
