The much-anticipated mythological epic Mahakali, part of the expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), has entered its final phase of production after completing 125 days of shooting. Backed by RKD Studios, the film is produced by RK Duggal and Riwaz Ramesh Duggal, with Prasanth Varma serving as creator and Puja Kolluru directing the project.
Touted as a grand cinematic spectacle, Mahakali is being designed specifically for IMAX, promising a visually immersive experience on a scale rarely seen in Indian cinema. The production recently achieved a key milestone with Rohit Saraf completing his portions. Earlier, Akshaye Khanna wrapped up his role as Shukracharya, a character that has already generated considerable buzz following the release of his first-look poster.
The film features Bhoomi Shetty in the titular role, with her fierce divine avatar as Mahakali receiving an enthusiastic response from audiences. With an ensemble cast drawn from multiple film industries, the project is positioned as one of the most ambitious mythological ventures in recent years, blending spiritual themes with cutting-edge cinematic storytelling.
The technical team includes music composer Smaran Sai, cinematographer Suresh Ragutu, and production designer Sri Nagendra Tangala. As the final leg of shooting progresses at a brisk pace, the makers are gearing up for post-production, with more updates on the film’s release and promotional campaign expected soon.
