Chennai, Aug 5:

Slamming the ruling TVK of VIjay, leader of the opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin asserted that he never intended to malign women and that his remarks were quoted out of context and cases foisted against him and was treated like a terrorist, while stating that he would continue to target the government on the Cauvery issue.

Talking to reporters at the Trichy airport after his release on station bail following his arrest for allegedly making double meaning remarks against Chief Minister Vijay linking to an actress during protests on cauvery row at Thanjavur, he said he only spoke about the betrayal of farmers by the ruling dispensation and failing to honour the promises for farmers and that cases were foisted against him and were politically motivated.

“I never spoke in double meaning. I only highlighted the betrayal of the government for not honouring poll promises. I too have a family…I was never brought by my parents like that…I respect the people of the state as my mother, brothers and sisters”, he added.

But the government, in a bid to prevent him from raising the Cauvery issue in the Assembly session beginning tomorrow has diverted the attention of the people to hide its failure, foisted cases, and treated like a terrorist, taken to a distance of 400 km and questioned at Sengampatti police station in Thanjavur district.

“I will continue to raise the issue in the Assembly. I will not be intimidated by such tactics and will face the case legally”, he added.
