Lahore, Oct 28:
Sri Lanka stormed into the final of the ODI tri-series with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Pakistan, knocking England out of contention at the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
Left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka led the bowling attack with career-best figures of five for 34 as Pakistan were bundled out for just 110 in 25.3 overs after electing to bat. Sahan Arachchige provided valuable support with two wickets for 24 runs.
Babar Azam top-scored for Pakistan with 29, but the hosts struggled to build partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Sri Lanka chased down the modest target in just 18.1 overs, finishing at 114 for two. Kamindu Mendis anchored the innings with an unbeaten 62 off 60 balls, while Pavan Rathnayake remained not out on 23.
The victory secured Sri Lankaâs place in the October 31 final against Pakistan and ended Englandâs hopes of reaching the title clash. Pakistan had already qualified after winning their first three matches in the tournament.
Sri Lanka will face England in their final league match on Thursday before meeting Pakistan again in the final.
